In-home physical therapy designed just for children

Small But Mighty Physical Therapy provides in-home physical therapy exclusively for children. We focus on helping little bodies build strength, confidence, and independence through personalized, play-based care. By meeting your child where they are most comfortable—at home—we create meaningful progress that supports real-life movement and growth.

Meet Kelli Salm,
PT, MPT, DPT

Hello!  I’m Kelli Salm, the founder and owner of Small But Mighty Physical Therapy. I have a master’s degree in physical therapy from The College of Mount Saint Joseph and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the College of Saint Scholastica.

With over twenty-two years experience, my passion is working with children and their families to help them meet developmental milestones and improve their functional mobility.

Evidence-based therapy tailored to your child’s needs

At Small But Mighty Physical Therapy, I utilize treatment techniques that are focused on improving your child’s gross motor skills.  I regularly take continuing education classes to learn new treatment techniques as well as to stay informed about best practices. As a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, I have access to and read peer reviewed journal articles to ensure that the treatments I am providing to your child are supported by evidence.

Early Movement

In order to build physical strength, coordination and boost cognitive development, it is important that children have early movement.  Activities such as reaching, rolling, and tummy time help infants understand where their body is in space and strengthen the ability of the brain and body to work together. Active movement and play encourage interaction with caregivers and promotes emotional growth.

Confident Motion

Consistent opportunities to participate in gross motor activities improve a child’s ability to easily perform a skill.  Once a child becomes proficient in fundamental skills, the child will gain the confidence needed to try more complex skills.

Brain Growth

Movement improves memory, attention and language skills.  In addition, curiosity, problem-solving abilities and self-regulation grow because of early movement.  Myelination of the nerve fibers, which is important in brain signal transmission, improves when a child is actively moving.
